Run an agent overnight
Start Claude Code or Codex on your cloud computer, close your laptop, and check on it from your phone.
Your agents run in terminals on your cloud computer, not on your Mac, so a task keeps going when you close your laptop. This recipe starts one before you leave and checks on it from your phone.
For the general picture, and other ways to do it, see the guide How to keep Claude Code running after you close your laptop.
Check your computer is running
Open your computer in the sidebar. Its status should be Running. If it says Paused, choose Machine, then Resume.
Start the agent in your repository
Under Repos, hover the repository and choose New agent…, then Claude Code, Codex or OpenCode. The agent opens in a terminal on your computer. Agents you haven't installed yet are in Agents & Tools; see Agents and tools.
For a long task, give it a worktree of its own so it doesn't collide with other work: see Run agents in parallel.
Let it work without you
Give the agent the whole task, including how to check its work, such as running the tests. An agent that stops to ask for permission waits until you answer: its dot in the sidebar turns amber, Waiting for you. If you're comfortable with it, set the agent's own permission settings so it can run the commands the task needs.
Close your laptop
Quit Cube or close the lid. Closing the app or your laptop never pauses your computer, so the terminal keeps running.
Check in from your phone
Open app.cube.computer on your phone, open your computer and tap the agent's terminal. You can read what it did and answer it from the phone. See Phone app.
What it costs
You pay for the computer while it runs, by the second: the smallest computer is $0.016 an hour. Your agent's usage is billed by its provider, on your own subscription. If your credit runs out, the computer pauses and the agent stops; see Credit and billing.
